Sometimes, life makes you stop. Now, it's time to start again.
In October 2020, Upcycled Speaker closed its doors during one of the most difficult periods of my life.
The reason was deeply personal. I had lost my father, and the grief that followed affected me far more than I could ever have imagined.
My name is Kal Morar, and Upcycled Speaker was more than just a business to me. It was a project built on passion, expertise, relationships and a genuine love for audio and visual technology.
After losing my father, I found myself struggling to find the motivation to continue. Managing a business, leading my team of experts and giving my projects the time, energy and attention they deserved became increasingly difficult.
I have always believed that if you commit to something, you should give it your very best. I couldn't do that while dealing with such a significant loss, and I wasn't prepared to continue simply for the sake of keeping the business running.
So, I made the difficult decision to step away.
Six years of grief, reflection and rediscovering my purpose
The six years that followed gave me time to process my loss, reflect on life and rediscover a sense of peace.
It wasn't a quick journey, and it certainly wasn't an easy one. Grief affects everyone differently, and sometimes you need to step back from everything you know to find your way forward again.
Throughout this time, the passion that inspired Upcycled Speaker never truly disappeared. It simply took time for me to reach a point where I could give it my full attention once more.
Now, in October 2026, I & my team are ready to return with renewed focus, fresh perspective and a clear vision for the future.
For me, this isn't about simply reopening a business.
It's about returning with the commitment, enthusiasm and dedication that our customers, suppliers and team deserve.
Six years may seem like a long time, but I believe that doing something properly is always better than doing it halfway.

We've also been researching the latest developments in audio and visual technology, exploring emerging products and keeping an eye on future innovations that could benefit our customers.
Technology never stands still, and neither do we.

A new chapter, built on experience and passion
Looking back, closing Upcycled Speaker in 2020 was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. However, taking that time away was necessary for me personally.
Returning in October 2026 represents something much bigger than a business reopening. It marks the point where I can once again dedicate my full attention to the projects I believe in, the people I work with and the customers we serve.
I want to thank everyone who supported me, understood my decision to step away or remained connected to the business over the years. Your patience and support mean a great deal.
As we begin this new chapter, my commitment is simple: to approach every project with focus, care and the determination to deliver the best possible experience for our customers.
I'm excited about what lies ahead, the relationships we'll rebuild, the technology we'll introduce and the customers we'll have the opportunity to help.
